DAY 8: 9/9/18 VENICE

7:50am start time because we have 7 hours of travel to Venice (Nintendo Switch + 3DS for the win). We packed a backpack and day bag because part of our trip is on a Vaporetto (water taxi) across the rivers to get to our hotel.

9:30am - Half hour rest stop at Europe's highest bridge.
11:30am - Lunch stop for Panini's and gelato at Cafe Central in Neumarkt, Italy.

I had a chocolate and vanilla cookie flavor gelato that was very refreshing. Got more cash from a local bank to get us thru Italy. The rest of the afternoon was an uninteresting drive to Venice. We got to Venice around 4pm and took the Vaporetto to the hotel and checked in a little after 5pm. We are staying at Hotel Serenissima in the heart of Venice a few blocks from San Marco square where all the action is.

Dinner was fantastic, prawn pasta and a white fish topped with an amazing sauce plus a bottle of wine for the table at Vini da Pinto. It was nice to have a small table of 4 to have some relaxation time with the family.

After dinner we had a group Gondola ride and then did a little bit more walking before polishing off our 2 Euro bottle of red wine from Austria.

My only Gelatto of the trip

On the Vaporetto (water taxi) to the hotel

Wine in the hotel during downtime was a common theme

Gondola ride (skip of the trip, not worth the money but you gotta do it)

Random bridge in Venice

Not my finest moment. Wine and Nintendo 3DS in the hotel room.
