Airplane landed in Amsterdam at 6:30AM. We found our checked bags, hit the bathroom and got on 300 Bus to Haarlem Central Station. First impressions were wow is the architecture different and the cities are really set up for bus transit. After a 40 minute ride we got off at Central Station and made the 10 minute walk to the hotel to drop bags. Two hours to kill until tourist stops open at 10AM. Walked Grote Market Square, found Jopenk Brewery, walked more, sat, bought some muffins to kill time. 10AM we are in line and do the Corrie Ten Boom house history tour. Very interesting and cool free tour. Walked some more to a windmill in Haarlem. Amazing tour where we went up into the windmill and learned the role they played in Dutch history. Next stop Jopen brewery for a few beers to kill time until 3PM check in. Dinner at Grote Market (fried shrimp, mussels, and kiplinger). Checked into the hotel and rested up. Tour starts tomorrow!
