Back on the Rick Steves bus we ran into horrible traffic around 11am so we pulled off the Highway at Noon for Lunch at an Autogrill. Think of this as similar to an Oasis overpass on the Illinois tollway. I had a club sandwich that was quite tasty for 5.20 Euros. After getting back on the road the traffic in both directions was diverted off the highway. We have been taking the back roads at about 5-10 MPH for 2 hours. Looks like we will have a change in schedule this afternoon. Hopefully we make our 5:30pm appointment to see Michelangelo's David.
3pm - Required 15 minute driver stop = 6 pack of Peroni for on the bus. 6.90 Euros for a 6 pack of 18 oz (50cl) cans was too good of a deal to pass up.
5pm - Arrived at the hotel 3 hours late. Early dinner then we are going to the Academia Museum and city walk after that.
Wow our pasta was out of this world good. The 4 cheese gnocci was to die for. We had an amazing Florentine steak and desert too. We got a lot of free wine with dinner! We saw Michelangelo's David plus a lot of cool busts in the same gallery. There was some Netflix show filming that screwed our dinner plans up, we had to find an alternative walking route. After dinner we did a walking tour of the city. I beat Nintendo 3DS Smash All Star.
Holy traffic batman
