DAY 11: 9/12/18 FLORENCE

Slept in until 7:45am then went on a sightseeing walk before breakfast since we have a free morning. The breakfast room was beautiful and I appreciated the slow morning to soak in some fresh air. We found a few pins for the cities of Italy for 2 Euros a piece. Headed out to the leather market for some window shopping.

The morning was spent wandering the streets of Florence, the leather market, a food market, and then I wandered alone for about another hour. Relaxing in the room during the sweltering day heat.

We had lunch at La Bussola Ristorante Pizzeria that Brian found. We split a bottle of the house white wine (vino de la casa) and 2 pizzas (vegetarian and goat cheese with wild boar prosciutto). The second was much better than the first but this was a great late lunch before the Uffizi Gallery led by a local guide. We saw all of the main pieces of art from Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello plus a lot of other Renaissance artwork. Our guide was fantastic. Back at the hotel waiting for the wine party (they called it happy hour) to start.

Happy hour was nice. We had some wine and chips/nuts then relaxed before bed.
